Former Bellingham Bartender Delivers New Single

15 January 2009 No Comment

Neko Case CD Cover Everyone’s favorite former local bartender, Neko Case (she bar tended at the 3-B Tavern before releasing her first solo record, has released the first single, “People Gotta Lot Of Nerve”, from her new Middle Cyclone CD as a free download. On top of the song being another amazing addition to her catalog, and even on top of probably the most amazing album cover of 2009, Neko and Anti Records are donating $5 to Best Friends Animal Society for each blog that posts a link to her new song. I’m really hoping she’ll do another show here to support the new album. I fNeko Case Adondly remember her 3-B shows, and saw several other shows at various venues all over the NW as she got bigger and bigger, but I have to say, her last Bellingham show at WWU was probably my favorite. You can read about it on my other blog.

“People Got A Lot Of Nerve” is a little poppier and upbeat than a lot of her recent recordings, and it seems to be a tad too short, but overall I really like it. It’ll be interesting to see what direction she went with the rest of the album. Is it poppy like this song, or is it the dark, twangy country she’s become known for? Or a mix of different kinds of songs? All I can say is it’s gonna be a long 2 month wait from here until March when this thing gets it’s official release.

I couldn’t resist posting this banner ad, which will take you to Anti Records’ ordering page. I’m not getting paid by them to post the ad - it’s just another amazing photo.
