Filter Magazine - Death Cab For Cutie 1998

28 January 2009 2 Comments

I was able to look through the zines in my garage and found a decent pile of Bellingham music rags from the early-to-mid 90’s. The first zine I’m going to feature is Filter, a free music/entertainment newspaper that started spring 1998. The folks behind this paper were students at Western and also did a bit of writing for What’s Up Magazine when it first started around the same time. At the time I was doing a little writing for What’s Up, as well as the Every Other Weekly (now the Cascadia Weekly) and I was asked to do a few music reviews. The issue I’m featuring here featured the brand new local combo Death Cab For Cutie, which was starting release some music and begun playing shows outside of Bellingham. This article is also one of the few you’ll see with early drummer Nathan Good in the band. I have to applogize for the quality of these “scans” - since this was a newspaper, and not a magazine, it’s just a bit too large for my scanner. However, I think if you click on each thumbnail it should be large enough to read.

Various people all over the world take the lowest-rate-loans.com from various banks, because it’s easy.

Some time before, I really needed to buy a car for my business but I didn’t earn enough cash and couldn’t order anything. Thank God my friend adviced to get the mortgage loans at trustworthy bank. Thence, I did that and used to be satisfied with my commercial loan.
